This was our third stay at the Maidens this year, and each time it has been amazing: we still think it is the best hotel we ever stayed at in our 40+ years of global travel, with thousands of hotel nights in 50-odd countries. We actually decided to stop over in Delhi on our way to Australia specifically to stay at the Maidens for some days, just to have the experience once again: it's that kind of really unique and special place! Right in the middle of bustling Delhi, there's this oasis of calm, with quiet gardens and mature trees, where peacocks and squirrels roam, and traffic noise is far away. The hotel was built as a luxury hotel in 1903, and been in use as such ever since. And today, 120 years later, it still magically exudes the atmosphere of that historic past. We just love coming back each time, that feeling of "coming home" we experience here and nowhere else: because the place still largely looks like it did in 1903 (the photos prove it), but it's otherwise an amazingly modern five-star hotel. And with an incredible team managing it: and that makes this place so special, and adds so much to the experience, beyond the historic element. We had another great reception when we arrived this time, with Prachi, the Hotel Manager, personally taking care of us and ensuring our stay was yet again amazing. We got our favourite room, and enjoyed every minute of our time there. The restaurant has this great variety of delicious dishes on the menu (Western, Asian, Indian), and thanks to the two chefs and their team, we loved having dinner there each night, as always. Overall and in every respect, this remains our favourite hotel in the world. It's just beautiful, and in a way you won't find anywhere else. Stay here if you can: it's a unique experience.

From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was warmly greeted by a doorman with a mustache, and the refreshing rose water offered at check-in set a wonderful tone for my visit. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a lovely shower and plenty of complimentary drinking water. I was also impressed by the delicious breakfast, which offered a wide variety of food and beverages, with some items made to order hot and fresh. The breakfast was so delightful that it made me excited to start each day, eager to enjoy both the delicious food and the warm smiles that greeted me The restaurant staff were exceptionally attentive, well-mannered, and friendly, always eager to ensure a positive experience. This same level of service was evident across all departments especially with the Executive Housekeeper, her exceptional service left a lasting impression on me, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for her attention and assistance. The gym was well-maintained and clean, and I felt safe there, knowing security was always present just outside the gate. Additionally, I appreciated the thoughtful evening check-ins by housekeeping, offering any assistance I may have needed, which demonstrated the hotel's genuine care for its guests. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the Civil Line metro station, restaurants, hospital, and convenience stores. Maiden Hotel will always be my sanctuary away from home, and I will wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Delhi.

The service was exemplary; nothing was too much trouble; everyone was so helpful and kind. Thank you especially to Alful at reception, Mukesh who ran the very good restaurants and bar, and chef Jashan for your kindness and excellent food - and all the rest of the team, you all helped to make our stay very special. We were lucky enough to be there for the New Year's gala dinner which was stylish and brilliantly organised; this typifies the Maidens' ambiance. The swimming pool is a delight: 20 metres long; warm and set in a lush green setting. The hotel is also very near the Civil Lines metro, which is a cheap and convenient - and relatively calm - way of exploring this hectic city, as well as the row of interesting local restaurants next to the metro station itself, which provide other useful dining options. It is a period property and has a distinctly old fashioned feel. Flashy it most certainly isn't; calm, caring and grown-up it most certainly is. And it most certainly made our introduction to our trip to India a happily memorable one. We highly recommend.

What was there not to like. This has to be by far the best hotel I have stayed in when it comes to service. The building itself is stunning and the rooms spacious and well presented. It is a beautiful place. The breakfast offering was truly impressive with the chef checking what you would like and making to order. Our evening meal was delicious and the bar a cute cafe like room off to one side. The only thing missing was a room filled with books, comfy chairs and a roaring fire! Everything was all you could want it to be - however, the gem in the crown was the staff. I have never had such perfect service - attentive yet not over bearing, professional yet so welcoming and friendly, helpful with a genuine smile. All the staff in all roles had this wonderful attitude that made our stay truly amazing and one to remember.

The room was exceptional, it felt like a "home away from home." The breakfast was good, though the Indian cuisine was superb. The staff at the Garden Terrace restaurant especially Devesh were simply outstanding, engaging but discrete and extremely courteous. No request was an issue for the restaurant staff. The staff at the Curzon Room were attentive and helpful, especially Ms. Servina. Housekeeping under Deepa Dhami was excellent. The hotel is well managed under the leadership of the GM Prachi Sati, it shows with a well organised team who provide excellent service. We will definitely return and I encourage others to visit.
